Blackwells.co.uk is an internet book shop I'd never heard of until it came out as having the best prices at a price comparison site I was using. I was hunting for a rather obscure book on robotics for my university course and no one had it. Amazon had it on order for 6 weeks the course was only 10 weeks and had already started!) and other places were charging the Earth for it. Blackwells not only had it in stock but at a decent price and they promised to deliver in just a few days. I was impressed.

Browsing around their site I found to be a little weak it has to be said. Finding things is really only possible through their search engine, which fortunately is very good indeed but it's not a shop for book browsers. Of course, most online book shops aren't either, but it's a bugbear of mine that they aren't!

That is really the sole gripe though. The service I received was excellent as was the price. Ordering was easy and efficient (no page time outs etc.), their privacy policy is superb and they've never bugged me since and the next time I'm looking for course books they'll be my first port of call. A really excellent company which I would specifically recommend to students and those looking for more advanced books because they seem to specialise in these particularly (they really are the best for this) but ordinary shoppers too will find what they are looking for at great prices because their selection is vast.

An excellent company and definitely one I'd visit again and again...and cheaper than Amazon too AND with free postage!
